About Marc

THEME STATEMENTS

In my photography works I tend to use a lot of bright colors whether that be in the photos themselves or after during the editing process. In my mind I try to add vibrance to my photos and make them something that draws attention (sometimes a little too much). I also take lots of close ups with no negative space. I think this adds a level of neatness to my photos that I enjoy. I like it when there is one subject and there are no distractions from that one subject. When I do shoot from farther distances, I tend to use the rule of thirds a lot and put my photos in the corners of the photo. Sometimes this helps sometimes it doesn't, but in my mind it can add a lot to a photo.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As a photographer, I take my photos with what I call my pocd. Photography Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. In my photos I try to make my subject the focal point with no distractions. I was inspired to do this from instagram photographers. In most instagram photos no matter the subject, there is a “neatness” to it. I follow lots of photographers on instagram and when I shoot my photos I try to replicate that neatness in my own work. Once I have my photos I always look at the mood of the photo. If it makes me excited when I look at it, or if it looks dark and eerie. When I go to edit these photos, I try to amplify those feelings so if it makes me excited, I brighten it up and make it even more exciting. If it makes me sad or darkens the mood. I try to make it even more dark and contrasted and pry that emotion out of people. I shoot photos based on feelings, not tangible things.
